Imogen’s Menagerie

June 26, 2007

No sooner had we got back from the last adventure to the mines, planted our seeds in the Abbey Greenhouse, than Captain Wilder rings the bell for the Calabar!  Now I shall have to postpone that Unicorn Embroidery once again!  Amid grumbles from Orlando, and loud chirps of excitement from Max, we three abandoned the Abbey rooms and hastily packed, and then headed down the dark underground to board the waiting ship.  There were loud squawks, large birds, people gathered dressed in all manner of costumes, ready for adventure.  Max’s eyes opened wide in amazement, and he prayed they would be kindly giants.  Orlando remembered the Dead Man’s Chest he had never opened, that was safe at the City of Ladies in his Ancient Pottery Studio…Or was it?  I had no wish to see the furies again.  Surely that was done?  Captain Wilder called out, something about gangplanks and falcons.  We made ourselves inconspicious, as the sun set beyond the far hills surrounding the bay, wondering what she would have in store for us this time…
